Badger Baiting
If you’ve read our history, you’ll know that many of
us have been members of other gaming clubs in the past. A legacy of this is the badger trophy which
is a challenge we have ongoing with the Terra Nova Gryphons and Northwest
gaming club of some pedigree. In every
tournament where we both have a reasonable level of entry, any games between
our members will be used to work out who takes home the badger trophy (a piece
of art in itself). The club with the
most wins takes the trophy and in the case of a tie, the holders retain the
prize.
Thus far TNG have consistently beaten us with only two
draws from 5 events. Each time a size
keeps the trophy for a 5 tournament run the get to keep that one. We are currently on our second badger but
don’t worry – we don’t spend much on them.
