Club History
The NWA was
formed in 2005 after being an idea for several years. Many of the original members were or had been
part of the Northern Warlords, a gaming club stocked with very talented players
and notoriety. The NWUK were 3 times
Club Challenge winners and held the largest ever win margin and never failed to
place in the 7 years of running. Much
like the Harlem Globe Trotters, this club toured the country playing exhibition
wargaming and taking many tournament placings.
However all was
not well and players started to leaver for other clubs and pursuits so a group
of members from the Northeast, the spiritual home of the Warlords, decided it
was time to utilise the talent we had and spread the skill locally so there was
again a large, well know club representing the Northeast on the tournament
circuit. Further more, we planned to rid
ourselves of the stigma the Warlords carried and become a club who met
regularly rather than a team who banded together only at tournaments.
The NWA are known
as a very sociable and fun loving club and it is this embodied sprit that makes
us well known to other clubs and bodies throughout the country.
